Mentoring

Mentoring scheme

Mentoring is our bread and butter - it is the foundation of our charity and over the years we have mentored hundreds of students with their applications to medicine and dentistry. Over 80% of our students are successful - find out how you can get involved.

Mentoring is now open!

We are pleased to announce that our mentoring scheme has re-opened and we can't wait to support more students in their application to medical or dental school. Our applications are open for people from African and/or Caribbean backgrounds who are applying to medicine or dentistry in 2023.

If you have any questions about our mentoring scheme, feel free to contact us via social media or drop us an email!

Become a mentor

If you're a current medical and dental student, doctor or dentist - you can apply to be a mentor with us!

It is a highly rewarding process in which you will support an applying student to gain a place in medicine and dentistry. Our mentors build skills that support them in their professional and personal development, and get a certificate for their portfolio!

A few testimonials from our amazing mentees!

'My mentor took the time to fully engage with me and my concerns. As someone who is actively going through the graduate application process, I am able to ask questions and receive answers that are more tailored to the graduate entry programme.'

'She gives honest advice that is realistic unlike most mentors from school. I feel a lot more comfortable talking to her. '

'It is very encouraging to be part of this initiative and seeing the enthusiasm and passion of the people behind this scheme through communication and eagerness to improve together with the volunteers. There has been opportunities to give feedback which has been well received and even implemented'
